North Georgia Wedding Venue and Vintage 60's Style Spring Wedding
While normally, our wedding venue in North Georgia would be deep into it’s Spring season hosting weddings, we’re adjusting like everyone else in the industry. Roaming through our files, we found this great picture of the entire wedding party and guests that made our heart skip! And since this fun vintage style wedding took place last April, and had loads of happiness, it was our first pick for this month’s blog. We hope it brings a bit of warmth, smiles and calm to your day!
The photographer’s at One Nine Images, made this shot look easy, but in actuality it took a team to get everyone together. After ceremony, the photographer’s made a quick announcement that they wanted to do a huge group shot of everyone, and to meet at the “ruins” steps at a set time. It was fun to see everyone getting in place and running from all parts of the property to get in! It did take a bit to get everyone corralled! We’ve also had photographer’s position the wedding guests in a heart shape with the wedding couple in the center. Wherever the location, it’s nice to have a group shot of everyone (or almost everyone!) in attendance… your photographer’s always have great ideas.
What comes to mind when you think 1960’s? So, while we could make a long list here (and in the process, let our inner hippie out!), some of the basics are: macrame, lace, bell sleeves, suede, fringe, earthy colors, stones, brass, and think lots of organic stuff! Here is a quick tutorial on how to make a Macrame Bouquet Wrap.
Hannah’s bouquet and flower crown were crafted by local florist, Flowerbuds. Bouquets in this vintage style are large, unstructured and have that “just picked and put it together” look; which, of course, you need an expert florist to do! The bride’s jewelry was unique to that 60’s style and we found some great pieces here on Etsy, or even heirloom jewelry can look great with this look. Nothing needs to match, and family members often love to have their pieces included in the new couple’s day.
The ceremony took place in one of The Ruins at Kellum Valley’s pasture ceremony sites, with mountains as the back drop. Flowerbuds decorated the arbor with fresh flowers and added a macrame piece. We found similar macrame hangings for weddings on Amazon, and most were under $50! Just cut and adjust to wherever you want to display.
The groom chose Chocolate Dipped Strawberries and Peach Cobbler Shooters for his traditional groom’s cake. What a great way to showcase a southern treat! All this deliciousness was made by our baker, Cynthia’s Cakes & Cookies.
We thought we’d end with some uplifting 60’s tunes (kinda wedding-ish and such), to finish out this North Georgia wedding venue’s vintage style wedding! And remember, LOVE wins, and even in these challenging times, things will work out.
